Covid-19: impact on the collections
Bruxelles-Propreté is obliged to take more measures because of an exceptional shortage of workforce available for the collections and street cleaning services due to to the Covid-19 crisis. Following the instructions from the Federal Government and the precautionary measures taken by front-line doctors, the number of patients recorded in the last few days has quadrupled in our operational services.
Collections of blue and white bags
On Thursday 26 and Friday 27 March Brussels-Propreté is unable to collect the paper and cardboard (yellow bags) separately from the white bags in the municipalities where the yellow bags are collected on those two days.
Likewise, the blue bags will not be collected on Monday 30 March from the inhabitants whose blue bags are collected on Monday.
This is why Bruxelles-Propreté is asking all inhabitants, who have the possibility to do so, not to take out their Paper/Cardboard - PMC packaging waste.
These inhabitants will be able to present their yellow and blue bags for collections as soon as the services are fully available again.
To make it easier to keep them at home, think of reducing their size : the cardboard boxes must be folded and piled up, and the papers stored flat (instead of crumpled). Likewise, plastic bottles and drink cartons should be flattened and resealed with their caps.
For public health reasons, our teams will exceptionally collect all the different waste fractions present while touring.
Bruxelles-Propreté will communicate on Monday 30 March to inform the population of the consequences of the evolution of the Covid-19 crisis on its services.
